Turmeric

Tumeric is an exotic spice that enhances flavor and gives everything it touches a gorgeous, golden glow.

Turmeric is a spice that reminds me of the mystical cultures of faraway lands. You probably know it from middle eastern dishes like curry but it’s the perfect partner to my all-American farm-fresh fruits and peppers. Turmeric, which comes from a root like ginger, brings a sharp flavor with a pungent, earthy-sweet taste. Oh how I love the way its hint of bitterness adds depth to my flavors. Tumeric has a way of balancing the sweet fruitiness of my sauces. Its color adds a delicious golden tint to my botanical hot sauce. And if you haven’t heard about its therapeutic bonus, you’ve been living under a rock. Turmeric is an ancient anti-inflammatory which makes it pretty darn perfect.

"How do I choose flavors? I really don’t know. I started off with apricot because I like apricots. Then it becomes a game to see what other fruits would work. My wife likes strawberries, so I did some strawberry. It just comes to me."
